About the Practice and Services

Pediatric pelvic floor physical therapy involves specialized techniques to assess and treat conditions related to the contraction and relaxation of the pelvic floor, diaphragmatic movement, core muscle strength and coordination, and more. It’s particularly beneficial for addressing issues like bowel and bladder dysfunction and pelvic pain.

We work with children of various ages, from toddlers to teenagers, who are experiencing bowel and bladder dysfunction

We provide effective therapy for a range of conditions, including enuresis: (involuntary wetting, day or night), stress incontinence, overactive bladder, urinary frequency and urgency, urinary retention, frequent urinary tract infections, vesicoureteral reflux, constipation, encopresis: bowel incontinence, fecal urgency and frequency, abdominal and pelvic pain, dysfunctional voiding and other related concerns.
Our cash-based approach allows us to provide individualized and comprehensive care without the restrictions often imposed by insurance companies. This means more focused treatment sessions and a personalized care plan designed specifically for your child’s needs.

We prioritize creating a comfortable and safe environment for children during therapy sessions. Techniques used are gentle, non-invasive and age-appropriate to minimize any discomfort.

Yes, we offer virtual sessions for follow-ups, progress checks, and consultations when appropriate. In-person sessions, however, are often necessary for the initial evaluation and hands-on treatments.

Appointments and Treatment

Each session typically lasts between 45 to 60 minutes. The duration may vary based on the specific needs and progress of the patient.
The number of sessions required varies depending on the individual’s condition, severity, and responsiveness to treatment. After the initial evaluation, we will provide an estimate of the recommended treatment plan.

The initial session includes a comprehensive evaluation, during which we will discuss medical history, symptoms, and perform relevant assessments to tailor a treatment plan to your child’s needs.

We believe in a collaborative approach. Parents/guardians play a crucial role in the child’s progress by following recommended home exercises and implementing strategies discussed during sessions. We ask that parents/guardians be present for the initial evaluation and treatment sessions.
Please bring any relevant medical records, a list of medications, and information about previous treatments. It can also be helpful to have a list of questions or concerns you’d like to address during the initial session.
Patient privacy and confidentiality are of utmost importance to us. We adhere to strict HIPAA guidelines to safeguard your personal and medical information.

Insurance and Referrals

Our practice operates on a cash-based model, which means we do not bill insurance directly. However, we can provide you with a detailed invoice that you can submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. Please check with your insurance provider regarding coverage details.
In Texas, direct access laws allow you to receive physical therapy services without a physician’s referral or prescription. This means that you can schedule an appointment with us directly for an evaluation and treatment. We prefer to collaborate with your medical team, and suggest scheduling an appointment with them prior to or just following our initial evaluation. If you have health insurance, it’s advisable to check with your provider to understand their specific requirements for coverage and reimbursement.
